Day of Atonement and Forgiveness, from Heb. the words “kipur” – atonement, forgiveness, redemption. Yom Kippur falls on the 10th of the Jewish month of Tishrei. According to Jewish tradition, in Yom Kippur the Almighty weighs all the actions of a person over the past year and passes him the final sentence, the mission for the next year.
