“KOSHER RHYTHMS” WILL HELP BUILD JCC

On Dec 6, 2015 a charity music tour called “Kosher Rhythms” by Nefesh musical collective headed by a well-known singer Igor Dabakarov will be started.

The tour will last till May, 2016 and will consist of a series of Jewish music concerts arranged in a pop-jazz style. Listeners will see these concerts in cities like Volgograd, Ekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Penza, Orenburg, Samara, Saransk, Cheboksary, Tolyatti, Chelyabinsk, Ulyanovsk and Ufa. The shows will open new pages from Jewish music history, some of them not widely known, be it new interpretations of famous melodies or folk songs sang in academic style. All the money raised from the tour will be sent for building Jewish Cultural Centre in Ulyanovsk. Musicians from Nefesh have also decided to donate all their royalities for the project.

Our new centre is to become the heart of culture and education in Middle Volga and help in developing and keeping the ethnic spirit of Jewish people, as well as be a stage for the multicultural dialogue.
